Who has been loving the ‘Shadow and Bone’ television series? I’ve yet to read this duology, and have to get to it before season three comes out… just in case there are spoilers. Plus, King Nikolai is my favourite character from the franchise.

I have been waiting for what feels like forever for the next instalment to find out what challenges Myfawny faces. And big ups for fellow Aussie author Daniel O’Malley for being able to mash paranormal mystery with a MI6 organisation together with a loveable protagonist.

I’ve been finding my love for Non-fiction again with memoirs from Australian female journalists: they usually have their finger on the pulse of current affairs world-wide, and are task-masters when it comes to gender equality. It’s always inspiring and such a fantastic point of view to indulge in for a while.

What’s your best recommendation for a memoir written my an inspirational woman?

I’ve been waiting ages to complete this trilogy – the fantasy series that is the inspiration of the fan fiction the protagonist writes about in ‘Fangirl.’ It’s like a queer Harry Potter. Not big into fantasy, but this is deliciously ridiculous and has funny and sarcastic characters.

Has anyone finished this trilogy? Did you like it (no spoilers please.)

Another series I’ve completed as a part of #BeatTheBacklist. This duology deals with a futuristic society that have identified the HTS (Homicidal Tendency Syndrome) gene – a gene that violent criminals possess, so anyone found with this in their DNA are imprisoned. Is it nature or nurture that determines if we are a killer?

What is your favourite book about gene research used as a plot device? Mine would have to be ‘This Mortal Coil‘ by Emily Suvada.
